Arsenal saw a summer bid for Manuel Locatelli rejected by AC Milan, according to Calciomercato.
Arsenal had their chief scout, Neil Banfield, watch the 18-year-old on several occasions last season – with positive reports filed back to the Emirates.
It was quickly decided that the youngster would be a useful addition for the Premier League outfit, but Milan’s reluctance to sell was made abundantly clear as they dismissed an offer from north London out of hand.
