The German defender has impressed at the Emirates since arriving in August from Spanish side Valencia in a big-money £35million deal
The German World Cup winner became the third most expensive centre-back in world football during the summer when he moved to the Emirates from Valencia.
Although he is acutely aware of the scale of the Gunners’ investment in him, he believes his performances so far have already proved he is not feeling the pressure.
Mustafi said: “I wanted to go to Arsenal, everything else was negotiated by the club.
“Of course, this [price tag] is an incredible sum. And I know what a burden that can bring.
“Especially in my second home in Gostivar. But I could not influence that. So I push it far away.”
Since Mustafi’s arrival Arsenal are unbeaten with clean sheets in each of their last three games.
Mustaf, born in Gostivar, a city in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, added: “We are showing that we have something big maybe. So we have goals. And we can achieve. I have faith in that, too.”
