Cardiff City have completed the signing of former Arsenal forward Marouane Chamakh .

The 32-year-old has signed a short-term deal with the Bluebirds and links up with boss Neil Warnock for a second time having worked with him at Crystal Palace.

Chamakh has been without a club since leaving the Eagles at the end of last season, and was able to move outside of the transfer window as he is a free agent.

“I’m so happy to be here and work with the manager again," the Moroccan marksman told the club's website.

“Cardiff are a side that should be on top and I think we can improve going forward. I’m looking forward to meeting with my new team-mates and getting started. I can’t wait to score for my new team.”

Warnock added: “We’ve signed Marouane on a short-term deal until January to assess his fitness.

“He’s a versatile player with pedigree and somebody who impressed me during my time at Crystal Palace.”
